If you are uncertain of things, you can avail yourself of your favorite search engine to learn more but making blanket statements which simply aren't true such as there are some MMORPGs that do offer an offline mode just proves your own ignorance. None of these provide an offline mode since that would be counterproductive to their means. They're sole purpose is to provide a platform for massive numbers of players around the world to play, if not with or against each other, then at least on the same servers ONLINE. I'm not aware of any MMORPGs that can be played offline. Minecraft could never be described an an MMORPG. Obviously that person also does not understand the difference between a game that can be played as multiplayer or singleplayer may not necessarily be an MMORPG. It might be he wasn't aware that Runescape is in fact an MMORPG and therefore by definition could never be played offline.Īnd that example of Minecraft is downright hysterical. I don't think it was an insult to point out the definition of an MMORPG.
